About the Artist
An illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Currently work as a full time lecturer in an art college and a freelance illustrator. Lee Teng specialize in environment and background art for films and games, digital matte painting, digital imaging, character design and children picture book illustration.
BIODATA
Lee Teng is a Lecturer in Illustration Department, The One Academy, a post she has held since 2012. She was appointed as the Course Leader for Digital Matte Painting, 3D and After Effects, Concept Design subjects. Lee Teng is also the person-in-charge for Digital Matte Painting and Illustration Major Course Development.
Besides, she is the Course Leader and Programme Coordinator for the collaborative project with Tigobo Animation School. Currently, Lee Teng is the Programme Coordinator for the Advanced Professional Short Course led by ex-Weta Digital Concept Artist, Eduardo Peña. Prior to her promotion to the position of lecturer, she was a Tutor in the same department.
Since graduating in 2008, Lee Teng has practised as a Freelance Illustrator & Visual Artist. She works closely with advertising agencies and design consultancies in projects such as Illustration, Matte Painting, Concept Art, Character Design and Background Design. She was also a Freelance Event Caricature Artist, partnering with Event Directus to perform during special functions.
Lee Teng attended her Diploma-level education at The One Academy in 2008, where she majored in Illustration. She further her study in Birmingham City University, where she graduated with first class honours and received her BA (Hons) in Visual Communication and Illustration in 2012.
Lee Teng is highly proficient in softwares such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, 3D Maya Essentials and Blender 3D, among others. As a creative person, she is also well-organised and very adept in management and paper works. Lee Teng was the IPCC 2014 Award winner in Digital Interactive Comic category, and the 2nd Prize winner in Go Green Creative Competition organised by One Utama in 2008.
